Autumn Term 2025

Halnaker Class – A Fantastic Finish to the Half Term!

What a brilliant start to the term it has been for Halnaker Class! In Maths, we have been diving deep into fractions—not always easy, but we have shown loads of perseverance and ambition along the way. From simplifying tricky fractions to solving real-life problems, everyone has worked hard and supported each other brilliantly.

In English, our writing skills have really taken off! We have been busy creating our own inventions and writing about different topics that we find interesting and tackling detailed report writing. It has been amazing to see the courage everyone has shown in sharing ideas, experimenting with new styles, and pushing themselves to improve.

Throughout the term, Halnaker Class have continued to show true kindness and acceptance—cheering each other on, working as a team, and celebrating everyone’s strengths. That positive spirit has made our classroom such a great place to learn.

And what better way to end the term than with our exciting trip to the London Dungeons. It was a day full of laughter, history, and maybe just a few screams! Everyone showed huge courage as we explored London’s spooky past.

It’s been a term full of learning, fun, and friendship—truly living out our values of ambition, kindness, courage, perseverance, and acceptance. Well done, Halnaker Class!

Spring Term 2026

Halnaker class has settled in well this term and are showing a fantastic attitude to learning. In maths, they have been tackling long multiplication with determination and focus. The pupils have approached this challenge in a courageous and ambitious way, demonstrating our school values by persevering even when the learning felt tricky.

In English, Halnaker class have been especially creative. They have enjoyed writing alternative endings to well-known stories, using their imagination while still respecting the original characters and plots. The pupils have shown great acceptance of each other’s ideas, sharing suggestions and celebrating different outcomes.

In Character and Culture, we have been learning about other cultures and beliefs, including Buddhism. The pupils have shown a real interest in this topic, asking thoughtful questions and demonstrating respect and curiosity about different ways of life, especially the Shaolin Monks. 

Across the curriculum, Halnaker class is working hard to show kindness towards one another. We are very proud of how well they have settled and the positive way they live out our school values every day.

Summer Term 2026

Halnaker Class has had a fantastic start to the term, with our learning firmly rooted in our school values of Accepting, Kindness, Perseverance, Courage and Ambition.

In Art, we are exploring art inspired by music, taking inspiration from artists Wassily Kandinsky and Jackson Pollock. The Pupils are showing great Courage and creativity as they experiment with colour, movement, and expression while responding to different pieces of music.

As part of our Character and Culture learning, we are really looking forward to visiting a residential care home. Pupils will spend time with the residents and take part in arts and craft activities, showing Kindness, respect and Acceptance while building meaningful connections within our community.

We have already begun some challenging learning in English and Maths. In Maths, pupils are developing perseverance while simplifying fractions with different denominators. In English, we will be studying biographies and then writing our own, using the skills and knowledge we have already developed.

With the sun starting to come out, we are excited to enjoy more outdoor learning and games, including rounders and cricket, encouraging teamwork, Ambition, and lots of active fun.
