Welcome to Kingley Class one of our Key Stage 4 classes here at Littlegreen Academy.
Autumn Term 2025
Kingley class have settled in well over the last couple of months and are enjoying the freedom and variety that is on offer when they visit Chichester College twice a week.
On Tuesdays, the pupils take part in their Technical Skills Day (Motor mechanics, Catering, Construction, Sport and Leisure), here they work alongside pupils from different schools.
On Wednesdays their curriculum education takes place at Littlegreen Hub which is based in Chichester College and they study English, Maths and Personal and Social Effectiveness. Being based in Chichester allows us to visit places such as Priory Park, The Walls, The Cathedral as well as a range of supermarkets and shops. This allows us the opportunity to enhance learning by taking it into real world establishments and solving problems and collecting a range of data and information which helps to bring learning to life.
Spring Term 2026
Kingley Class are working hard in their first year of working towards their ASDAN qualification in Personal and Social Effectiveness.
In the first term Pupils completed a number of challenges based on their Health and Wellbeing. These included creating exercise plans, identifying ways to reduce or manage stress, looking at the positive and negative effects of influencers, looking at the importance of good hygiene and presenting information about the nutrients that are important for our health.
This term they have completed a number of challenges based on sport and leisure. These included looking at how you use your time during the week, surveying participation in sport, trying out a group leisure activity, finding out about leisure activities in the local area suitable for different groups of people and organising a day out to visit Brighton Pavillion.
After half term we will be looking at longer challenges based on how a menu can be made healthier and taking part in a range of indoor activities.
Summer Term 2026
Kingley Class have been working hard in all aspects of becoming independent as the realisation hits that in just over twelve months they will become school leavers.
We have been spending quite a bit of time out of the classroom practising the skills we need to develop once we have left Littlegreen. These include being able to go into a café, deciding what we want and ordering it at the counter, then finding seats and sharing time eating, drinking and watching the world go by.
We have completed two day trips travelling by train, one to Brighton and one to Southsea. Both have included studying train timetables and deciding on the most suitable trains to catch, going up to the ticket office and buying our own tickets and of course being able to get to places like Brighton Pavillion and Clarence Pier once we get off the train.
