Kingley Class

Class Teacher: Greg Tognarelli

Welcome to Kingley Class one of our Key Stage 4 classes here at Littlegreen Academy.

Autumn 2024

As part of their ASDAN Sport and Leisure qualification, Kingley class have organised a trip to the local museum. The pupils were given the choice of four different museums and voted to visit the D Day Museum at Southsea, by train. As a class, we had to look at train timetables to decide which train to catch in order to be at the museum by 11am and which train to catch in order to be back in Chichester by 3pm.

After meeting at Chichester College, we were able to walk to Chichester Train Station, buy our tickets and catch the train to Portsmouth Harbour.

We then walked for 35 minutes along Southsea Seafront to reach the museum at 10.55.

The pupils then enjoyed looking around at the museum and were amazed to see guns, flags, tanks and uniforms all dating back to 1944. William and Adam were so impressed that they decided to go around again! Harry and Lewis really enjoyed playing with the anti-aircraft guns positioned on the landing craft.

The pupils really enjoyed planning and organising this day out and are already asking if they can plan another one soon!

Spring 2025

This term Kingley class have been working extremely hard at completing their coursework for an ASDAN qualification in Personal and Social Effectiveness.

As part of this work, pupils organised a whole school board game tournament. After much discussion, we decided to hold a Connect 4 tournament as we determined that this would provide quick games that everyone in the school could access.

An email was sent out and over 30 staff and pupils put their names down to take part. It took some time to organise a format for this amount of people, but in the end we decided on a knockout competition with a first round, a second round, quarter final, semi-final and a final.

Pupils from lower school and upper school took part along with staff from the office, Teaching Assistants, Teachers and the Head of School!

Kingley class worked hard to make sure the correct games took place at the correct time and after nearly a week of competition, we were left with two pupils to contest the final.

Jayden and Tristan took part in the final which took place in the Kingley classroom- with Tristan winning the match.

Well done to everyone who participated, we are planning to organise another tournament in the summer term!
