Lower School Sensory Stunning Start
All of the 8 senses work together; there are very few activities that only use one sense. Everyone has different likes and dislikes and these can change depending on how we are feeling. It is really important to know how your own body works because once we know this, we can use sensory strategies to help us to feel better. Each sense has ‘receptors’ which is the place on, or in, our bodies where the information is received and then sent to the brain.
Today pupils have been taking part in lots of practical activities to explore their senses - sight, hearing, taste, smell, touch, proprioception, vestibular and interoception and asking themselves ‘What is it about this activity that I do or don’t like?”
